About Me

Hi, I'm Ren! I am your classic "has been drawing since they could lift a pencil" type of artist. I love making Live2D models, and generally illustrating things. One day I would love to take the plunge and learn how to animate traditionally! I have 3 major reasons for making this comic; 1. I would like to get better at art generally! I do not have a lot of experience with environments/backgrounds, and I still have a lot to learn about human anatomy. Making a comic includes a lot of environments/backgrounds and humans, so I figured it would be a good way to exercise my artistic ability and grow! 2. I feel the need to learn more about history. This comic is an alternate history, a one-to-one of Earth as it is and was, just with some supernatural happenings sprinkled in. History has always been a subject I avoided and disliked, specifically and especially because of war. However, every day I believe more and more that it is important to know your history and where you come from. This story was always intended to begin during the American Revolutionary War, but I think the want to learn about it was the final catalyst in me actually starting to make this comic at all. The U.S.A. was built on rotten foundations, and I am curious to explore how it affected people then, and the way it has shaped America since. 3. I owe it to Alexandrus. He is a direct manifestation of my trauma, my fears, my soul. He is a character that has grown up with me and through me. I often think of a post I saw that essentially said, “if you die before you write your story, your characters die in your head”, and I can’t do that to him. I always wanted to make a webcomic for him, then told myself I wasn’t good enough to for 13 years. Well, you KNOW WHAT? I AM GOOD ENOUGH! I’M MAKING THE DAMN STORY!!! And I encourage ANYBODY READING THIS who has a story they want to make to SAY THE SAME THING and MAKE YOUR STORY!!! DO IT!!!

Alexandrus' life has been difficult. Probably to be expected when you've been a vampire for 400 years. Struggling with his memory, he finds solace in alchemy and herbalism. Following war, battle, and bloodshed, he continues practicing his craft as a combat medic (and feeds when he is least likely to be noticed). Making his way to the American Colonies with the whispers of revolution on the air, he expects to continue as normal. He does not expect to meet Marsh.

This comic will have themes and potentially depictions of: Abuse Trauma Self-harm and suicide Eating disorders Violence Death or dying Mental illness Pages depicting the above content will be censored with a warning for you to click through! However, it is a vampire story, so there is gonna be a lot of blood, and if you need blood censored this is prob not the comic for you B)
